About

The Simmons University Digital Archives (SUDA) is managed by the Simmons University Archives and supports the academic, research, and institutional needs of the Simmons University community, as well as those of outside scholars. SUDA collects, preserves, and provides access to materials relating to the history, development, and operations of Simmons University. In addition to historic archival materials and student work currently housed, this repository’s scope will expand to include faculty scholarship and datasets, institutional records documenting the operations of the University, and other materials relating to the history and development of the Simmons community.  All materials included in SUDA are in adherence to the standard access and restrictions guidelines put forth by the University Archives; as such, access to certain materials may be limited to all or part of the Simmons community.

SUDA is a Preservica interface, which includes both frontend and backend access to control visibility restrictions and align with any particular record’s restriction needs. All material exists within hierarchical structures and uses Dublin Core metadata standards to aid in discoverability and organization.

To submit material to SUDA, please consult the guidelines listed on the Submit Your Work page. If you are submitting work on behalf of your academic or administrative department, please contact the University Archives at archives.simmons@edu for further information and instructions.
